Winding Path
 
This flute was created with the intention of helping us navigate the many twists and turns that life brings. The gentle curves in the body of this flute reminded me that life rarely moves in a straight line. There are unexpected bends, moments when the way ahead is unclear, steep climbs and gentle valleys. Sometimes we know exactly where we are going, and sometimes we simply have to trust the path beneath our feet and follow our heart.
This flute is made from Sycamore a beautiful  and lively wood filled with incredible energy and character. Her surface carries the marks of spalting creating flowing patterns and colours that almost seem to move through the wood. These colours are a reflection of the many feelings and emotions we experience along our own journeys - joy, sadness, love, fear, excitement, uncertainty, peace, and everything in between. Each mark and each colour tells part of a story. May her voice bring comfort when the way feels uncertain, strength when the path becomes difficult, and a gentle reminder that all of the colours and experiences of life are part of the journey. Winding Path.
She is in the key of E tuned to 432Hz. The inlays are Malachite. For me this stone represents Mother Earth, this incredible and  beautiful planet that holds us as we journey through this life. The Fox totem is handcrafted from Sugar Maple, lovingly foraged by my dad in Upstate New York. He has eyes of Turquoise to help bring clarity and light to the path ahead and is secured to the flute using lace from North American White-tailed Deer. The feathers are of Tawny Owl and Buzzard foraged by myself here in Cornwall. The Buzzard helps us to rise above the obstacles that come before us and the Tawny Owl is a great messenger and guide between all realms. May the songs and prayers of this flute shine brightly and fly with courage.
