The Fire Within
 
There is within each of us a nourishing warmth. Sometimes it is burning so bright that we can share this warmth with those around us. This radiant love that shines light in all directions. At other times it is but a faint ember in need of some nurturing care. Sometimes on the journey of life the world around us can feel less that easy and when our fire is just an ember it can be so difficult but it is important to remember that this fire is never completely extinguished. It lives within our hearts and is part of the infinite love that we are all connected to. With gentle care and support this ember can grow and within its light we can better see our path. This process of tending to our fire is healing and with this nourishment we are better able to understand what it is that we need. It is through this work that our fire grows and once again shines all around us. Through healing and understanding ourselves we are better able to maintain our fire and create an abundance of fuel to help us when times get tough. This is the work and when our wood pile of self love is large enough to be resilient we are able to not only be there for ourselves but for those around us that need support. In honour of this incredible love and the continuing work of healing I name this flute,
 The Fire Within.   
 
She is in the key of E tuned to 440Hz and is made of Hazel that was foraged in the valley where I live. The inlays in the body of the flute are Yellow Agate and Red Serpentine foraged from here in Cornwall. Both of these stones promote healing and for me represent the transformational power if fire.The totem is made of burly maple that was foraged by my dad in upstate New York. He has eyes of Turquoise to help connect with clear vision of the heart and power of speaking ones truth. The feathers are Red Kite and Buzzard. Both of these incredible beings help us to rise above the obstacles that come before us and see our path from a new perspective. May the songs and prayers played with this flute travel with grace to where they need to go.
